Orange County Eye Project
Explore the Orange County Eye Project, driven by the commitment of volunteers, including ophthalmologists, optometrists, and clinic support teams from Southern California. Our mission is to deliver free eye care to the underserved population, ensuring accessible and compassionate healthcare for everyone in the region.
Hello!
The Orange County Eye Project (OCEP) is initiated in 2021 to provide specialized eye care to the underserved population of Orange County and beyond.

Ms. Noemi Grabiel is the OCEP Coordinator. She has worked in nonprofits and provision of eye care and eye surgeries to the underserved for many years, and is intimately aware of the issues.
About Orange County Eye Project
With the help of volunteer ophthalmologists and optometrists from all over Southern California, and with additional help and support from volunteers who run the clinic, including techs and scribes, the program provides free eye care to the underserved population in the region. With 12% of population in OC considered to be economically challenged, while about 8% of the population under-insured, a significant number of people require help. These people either do not access eye care until it's too late when they land in ERs, or ignore the issue and become visually impaired, becoming a burden on the families and an extent, on the economy.
The OCEP program, with help from Alcon Foundation and additional help from Heidelberg Engineering, regularly organize clinics in the cities of Orange and Yorba Linda, where patients are evaluated and provided treatment as per the need.
Since the start in June 2021, the program has evaluated more than 2000 patients and provided treatment to more than 500.
